Turn the sound on here

The FUNdamental Superhero Academy is a fun way for children to learn new fundamental movement skills, and to practise and improve those skills.  Dressing up as a superhero is not an essential part of the event, it is your choice as a school.  Some schools do not dress up so that no-one feels left out, other schools make masks and capes so that everyone can dress up.  Wearing a football kit is not exactly a superhero, but perhaps a famous sportsperson can be seen as a superhero.  It is your event, so please feel free to do whatever you want with regard to dressing up.  Be warned - many teaching staff dress up too!

When the children arrive they will be met by Professor Weston.  Wearing his Superhero Academy lab coat, and with long white hair and bald on top, Professor Weston soon has the children laughing and dancing to the Superhero song.  Once they have been welcomed into the Academy, children will split into smaller teams and work their way round each task, honing their Superhero Skills.  They will run, jump, dodge, throw, and fly (yes, you heard that correctly.  All superheroes can fly!).  They learn to fly by laying on wheeled boards, using their core strength to glide their way along.

Above all else, we want the children to enjoy themselves on the day, and for staff to get some ideas of what activities you can do back in school to help children improve their Fundamental Movement Skills.

See you there!
